EUROPEAN PROJECT FOR LOCAL DEMOCRACY

The network of local action groups of Serbia together with partner organizations from France Leader France and Estonia Eesti Leader Liit implements the Erasmus+ project “European project for Local democracy in Serbia, France and Estonia” (EPLD).

From October 18 to 21, a study visit of representatives of the French and Estonian LAGs to Serbia is planned.

On the first day of the visit, a meeting of project participants with representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management was held. Jasmina Miljković, the head of the IPARD governing body, presented the situation in the LEADER approach in the Republic of Serbia and the planned support measures through the IPARD 3 program, and Sandra Macura, the coordinator of the EPLD project for Serbia, spoke about the current situation related to LAGs in Serbia from the point of view of the organizations themselves and presented a few examples of good practice.

Thibaut Guignard, president of the French network and chairman of ELARD aisbl, praised the efforts of the state in the direction of implementing the LEADER approach, but also emphasized the need to further strengthen and help LAGs.

During the day, the participants of the visit toured the territory of the K2 Partnership, where they visited the Ecological Center Radulovacki and OOZ Benišek-Veselinović in Sremski Karlovci. Vladimir Budalić introduced the attendees to the activities of the Radulovački Ecological Center, which is one of the founders of the Partnership for Rural Development Sremski Karlovci – Kovilj, and then took them through the center of Sremski Karlovci and introduced them to the cultural and historical significance of the town.

This was followed by a visit to the Benišek Veselinović winery, where the owner, Mirko Veselinović, was the host. Guests had the opportunity to taste the products of this farm in the wine cellar. Lunch was arranged for all present.

The guests continued their journey to Beocin.
