Pupils of the Futog Agricultural School created business plans for local agro-entrepreneurial ideas

In the Agricultural School in Futog, 24.9.2026. a workshop was held as part of the A4 activity “Green Economy Incubator: youth solutions for work in the countryside”. The workshop was organized by the Partnership for Rural Development “Sremski Karlovci – Kovilj” as a partner in the “Pioneers of Rural Change” project. The project is financed from the Erasmus+ program of the European Union, within Key Activities KA154 – Youth Participation Activities.

The project encourages the active participation of young people in the development of local communities. Young people from rural areas learn to recognize the potential of their region and turn it into sustainable business ideas in the areas of green economy, such as organic agriculture, sustainable tourism and renewable energy sources. Through teamwork and informal learning, they develop entrepreneurial skills. They present their ideas to local entrepreneurs and experts and receive support from them for further development.

25 students divided into five teams participated. Each team created a business plan for one topic: cheese production, growing vegetables and herbs, animal-assisted therapy, veterinary practice and beekeeping. The ideas relied on local resources, primarily on the school property.

After the introductory part about what a business plan is and what it is for, the teams developed their ideas independently. Then they presented the plans to mentors, professors of the school, and received feedback and guidelines for further development from them.
