Project ELECTRA – Kick off meeting, Bastia, France

The first international event within the ELECTRA project was held in Bastia (Corsica, France) on 16–17 April 2026, bringing together partners from seven European countries with the aim of strengthening electoral literacy, democratic participation, and the fight against disinformation.

The event opened with a presentation of the project and its objectives, with a focus on the importance of electoral literacy as one of the key challenges facing contemporary European societies.

During three thematic sessions, participants discussed:

  • the integrity of electoral processes and citizens’ trust,
  • factors influencing democratic participation,
  • the impact of disinformation on democratic processes.

Through the exchange of experiences and examples from different countries, common challenges were identified, as well as concrete good practices that can contribute to increased citizen engagement and the strengthening of democratic values.

The event also included a Steering Committee meeting and a study visit to the Municipality of Oletta, further fostering cooperation among partners and the exchange of knowledge.

The project partner from Serbia is the organisation Partnerstvo K2, represented at the event by Rajko Marinković, Neda Brajenović, Jelena Petrović and Nebojša Gavrilović, who contributed to the discussions by sharing experiences and examples from the local context.
